about:

RVA Krampusnacht was conceived and organized by a group of artists with an appreciation for folklore and the darker side of the holiday season. Our events aim to bring art and culture to our city, encouraging participants to join us in our walk and put their own creative spin on costumes and masks. While we do focus heavily on the traditional Krampus, we also incorporate other folkloric 'Yuletide Monsters' in our scope.

types of events:

We organize a 'Yuletide Monsters' group exhibit at Gallery5 art gallery. The art opening takes place on the first Friday in December and includes live bands, burlesque and variety show, food truck, and vendors. The following Saturday we host a Holidaze Market at the same location followed by our Krampuslauf parade through the Carytown district of Richmond. We also include a toy drive charity. Other events may include: Mask making workshops, Drink & Draws with live models, tattoo flash days, panel discussions, Krampus Ball or after parties, brunch with Krampus events, and a Haunted Christmas themed haunted attraction hosted by Red Vein Army.

annual events:

Every 1st Friday in December is our "Yuletide Monsters" art opening. The Krampuslauf is always the Saturday after.

unique resources:

We organize a mask making workshop that is accessible for all levels of experience. We also participate in a charity toy drive every year.
